I am very pleased to bring you news about a new SkillsUSA partnership initiative with the National Technical Honor Society. Both organizations have agreed to work cooperatively to promote the mission and programs of the other, and the initiative will include the following goals:

• Promote educational excellence in America;
• Build a positive image for career and technical education;
• Reward higher achievement among SkillsUSA and NTHS members;
• Market the benefits of membership in SkillsUSA and NTHS; and
• Increase scholarship opportunities for outstanding SkillsUSA student members.

Since 1984, the National Technical Honor Society has been the leader in the recognition of student achievement in career and technical education. Thousands of schools and colleges are affiliated with NTHS, and thousands of SkillsUSA members are also NTHS members. 

NTHS is America’s highest award for excellence in career and technical education, and student-members are honest, responsible achievers who characterize the time-honored values in demand by today’s quality-driven business and industry. I can think of no better way for SkillsUSA members to add value to their resume than to earn membership in the National Technical Honor Society.  

Weigh the value and significant benefits of NTHS and establish a chapter on your campus this year.
