Congratulations 2015 Jon H. Poteat / NTHS Scholarship Winners!
These scholarships, named in honor and memory of our co-founder, are awarded annually to NTHS members who consistently exemplify the seven character attributes of the NTHS – Skill, Honesty, Service, Responsibility, Scholarship, Citizenship, and Leadership.
This year, over $225,000 will be awarded. Of that award, $200,000 will be awarded from the Jon H. Poteat/NTHS Scholarship Fund in addition to CTSO's scholarships.
The 2016 Jon H. Poteat Scholarship on-line submission is accessible from September 1, 2015 until midnight EST April 20, 2016. The application is simple and only takes a few minutes. Just log in as a member, click on “scholarship application“, confirm your name and email address, then submit! NTHS will award at least 200 one-thousand dollar scholarships to eligible members in 2016. Eligible applicants must be current NTHS members who have not graduated.
All others are partnership scholarships with other CTSOs. Please use the links below to access the NTHS scholarship page and follow the links provided for each (HOSA, BPA, FBLA, FCCLA, DECA & SkillsUSA). Eligible applicants must be a dues-paying member of both organizations and the requirements and criteria are decided by our CTSO partners.

The mission of Health Occupational Students of America is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. NTHS is honored to be partnered with HOSA to promote their mission and provide Six $1,000 scholarships to active HOSA members who are also current NTHS members in good standing. Three (3) scholarships will be awarded to high school members, and three (3) scholarships will be awarded to college/postsecondary members. For more information and application form, click here.
NTHS has teamed up with SkillsUSA to promote outstanding student achievement within career and technical education. NTHS will award Four $1,000 scholarships to SkillsUSA members at the SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference. Two (2) scholarships will be awarded to high school members, and two (2) scholarships will be awarded to college/postsecondary members. DECA, the association for students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship has partnered with NTHS to promote outstanding student achievement within career and technical education and to develop future leaders. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school students that are members of both DECA and NTHS. For more information click here.
Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life -- planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication -- necessary in the home and workplace. NTHS is pleased to partner with FBLA-PBL to recognize the outstanding achievement of their students. FBLA-PBL offers an extensive competitive event program for their members. The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, academic, citizenship, and technological skills. NTHS will award Three $1,000 scholarships to students who are members of NTHS and BPA. One will be awarded to a high school student, and one to a college student.
